Before the first ferry horn sounds, the woodchip run is already buzzing.

The 7 AM crew is a dedicated group of East Bayfront residents who use the park as their primary social hub.

"It's the woodchips," says Sarah, owner of a high-energy Border Collie named Scout. "In the winter, it doesn't get as muddy as the grass parks, and it's easier on their joints than the concrete paths."

The dog run at 50 Queens Quay East is unique for its "brutalist backdrop"—the towering condos provide a dramatic contrast to the post-and-rail fence.

Whether you have a Great Dane or a Toy Poodle, the morning rhythm is the same: fetch, water break at the blue fountain, and a quick gossip session for the humans before the workday starts.

Field Notes

The lake air does something to the colors down here. Everything looks a bit more saturated when the humidity hits.
